K-Cup Sale at Target

This week Target is running a great sale on K-Cups. This was perfect timing because I just ran out of my favorite Caribou blend. 18 ct packs are on sale for $11.99 each. When you buy three packs, you get a $5 Target gift card. Print this coupon and your total for all three packs equals $29.97 or $.55 each. The only price cheaper than this is at Costco but if you don't have one or a membership, run out to Target and stock up!

While you're there, snag this pasta deal. Print this coupon, purchase three Market Pantry dry pasta items and get each one for $.74 each!

Weekly Menu August 28 - September 3, 2011

This has been one crazy week with an earthquake and a hurricane. I hope everyone on the east coast is staying safe! Despite all of the natural disasters, this is a pretty good week for Harris Teeter sales.  Hopefully when you're shopping this weekend there will be items left in the store! This week's post is a great example of how stocking up on grocery sales can help spread your savings over a few weeks.  2.5 lb bags of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts are B2G3 so I’m stocking up to be set on chicken for the next few weeks! Also, if you purchase the stock up list and save the left over chipotle chili in adobo sauce from this week, you’ll already have most of the items for a whole meal next week! For all of this week’s savings and coupon match ups at Harris Teeter, check out the list from Southern Savers.

The weekly menu is about $55 this week for two people. If you buy the stock up items, your total will be more but you will be prepared for next week and many more to come with all of that chicken! Also, there will be leftovers from the chicken casserole (serves 4-6).

Weekly Menu August 21-27, 2011

Sorry for the late post this week. I was out of town celebrating the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Alan and Liz Pike! Congrats! I was thrilled to see this weekly ad from Harris Teeter. There are lots of amazing stock up items with the Buy 2, Get 3 Free (B2G3) sale on Craisins, Tuttorosso Tomatoes, and Emerald Nuts! I eat Craisins and nuts all of the time in salads and to make trail mix/snacks but if you don’t personally eat those items often, I wouldn’t recommend purchasing all 5.  That being said, you must purchase 5 of the items to get the sale price.  The weekly total for dinner this week is $49 (without tax).  This is the cost broken down for the 7 dinners based on two people. If you do the B2G3 sale on Craisins, Tuttorosso Tomatoes, and Emerald Nuts with the coupon, the total will be $66.  However, your pantry will be full of stocked up goodies!

MyPanera Rewards Card

Last week I posted about earning free drinks with the Starbucks Rewards card. If Panera Bread is more your cup of tea (or should I say coffee) then there's a card for you! The MyPanera rewards card can be found at your local participating Panera Bread. Pick up your card and register it online. Just for registering you will earn a free bakery-cafe item. The more often you visit, the more rewards you will earn. It's also fun because there is nothing to keep track of...the Panera employee will tell you your next available free item after you place your order! You can log in to your account online as well to see your offer. I have already earned free coffee, bagels, and smoothies with only a few visits. Stop by your Panera Bread today and pick up a card to start earning!

SavingStar & Upromise

Another way to save money is with ecoupons from websites such as SavingStar and Upromise.  Both of these websites have coupons to add to your store cards such as Harris Teeter, Lowe's Food, CVS, RiteAid just to name a few. You will not get the money off immediately when you checkout at the store. Instead, the money is loaded into each of these accounts to redeem in various ways.  Head on over and get signed up. New coupons refresh each month so you never know what savings will be next!

SavingStar
1) Create an account and add all of your store cards.
2) Click on the coupons you want to add.
3) Use your store card when shopping and the money is automatically added to your SavingStar account.
4) When you reach $5 you can choose a payout option such as amazon.com gift cards, bank deposit, or paypal deposit!

Upromise
Need help paying Student Loans? Just had a baby and already worried about saving for college? Upromise is a website that provides easy ways to save money with things you already do weekly. Just like SavingStar, you can link ecoupons to your store loyalty cards and have the money automatically added to your Upromise account. In addition, you can also earn money from shopping online and dining out.  The money deposited into your account from these activities can be used to invest in a savings account or 529 plan, pay down student loans, or request a check that can be used for college or other expenses. No matter what point you are in life, it's never too early to start saving for the future, especially when you can do it this easy!
