Harris Teeter Weekly Menu October 2 - 8

With the arrival of fall and cooler weather you'll be scrubbing the crock pot a lot this week! I think that's a fair trade off for how easy a slow cooker makes preparing meals. Pull your meats out of the freezer the night before and place them in the refrigerator.  This step allows your ingredients to be thawed and ready to use in your recipes.  The total this week is right under $40 (without tax) if you have the matching coupons and stock up items.

Weekly Menu
Sunday: Cheesy Baked Pasta with Spinach & Artichokes
Monday: Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos
Tuesday: Peppered Pork & Pears
Wednesday: Slow Cooker Beef Onion Stew
Thursday: Crab Stuffed Salmon Fillets with Side Salad

Bi-Lo Weekly Menu September 18-24, 2011

Here is the inaugural menu for Bi-Lo! I'm unable to price the list out per item but hopefully this menu is still around the $50 mark.  The weekly menu is based off of two servings except for the Chicken Casserole and Black Bean & Rice Chili (both serve 6).  You can plan for these leftovers and use each for two more dinners or lunches. Make sure to get to the store on Friday or Saturday for the $2.99 Tilapia special!

Getting Started Tips
-If this is your first week, start small and build up! Pick which recipes fit your taste, time, and budget and work up from there.
-If you don't have all of the pantry/fridge staples, your shopping list may be over $50 in the beginning.  Over time you will build up your own stock and begin to see the savings add up.
-Freeze any left over meat and shop the stock up list to be prepared for meals in the following weeks!

You have been asking for it and it's coming soon...starting this weekend Coupon Kitchen will now feature weekly menus from Bi-Lo! Due to their online system, I won't be able to break down the cost of each item. However, the meals will still be based off sale items, healthy, and budget friendly. I hope this helps out a big group of you that don't have Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods available!
