Leap Day Sale at Half Off Depot

In celebration of Leap Day, get 29% off all orders from Half Off Depot with the code LEAP29. There are multiple deals to pick from in each participating city. Their deals are usually a great price anyway but now you can get an even bigger discount on restaurants, spas/salons, entertainment venues, and retail.  I'm definitely debating on purchasing the facial from Ki Salon and Spa for only $42 - usually a $120 value! If I was still in Charlotte, I would probably buy one each of the Pewter Rose, Cajun Queen, and Bonterra restaurant certificates. These certificates are a great way to enjoy dinner out on a budget. Happy Leap Day!

Harris Teeter Weekly Menu Feb 26 - March 3

I'm really excited about all of the seafood on sale this week. These types of sales give me the opportunity to add a lot of variety to the menu. I really get too excited about food sometimes! There isn't any pasta on the menu this week, but if your stock pile is running low, I suggest hitting up the Barilla deal where pasta is $.89 each and SS 1/8 has coupons for the whole grain variety. The subtotal this week is $53. A little past the goal of $50 but I feel a menu full of fresh and healthy meats and veggies is worth it!

Cuppies Giveaway!

When you hear cupcake, I’m sure the word delicious comes to mind, but most likely not wholesome. That’s how a new product, Cuppies, is turning heads in the cupcake world. Cuppies are one of a kind – heavenly and wholesome!  Creator Whitney Logue meshed all of her passions into one and Cuppies were born.  A lifetime lover of cupcakes, former preschool teacher, and now a mom herself, Whitney saw the need for a healthier alternative to the traditional sugar laden cupcake full of ingredients she couldn’t pronounce.  After many batches of experimental cupcakes, the perfect recipe was discovered and now Cuppies are taking Wilmington, NC by storm.

The cake is sweetened with Agave and the entire Cuppie is soy-free, egg-free, dairy-free, vegan, contains zero cholesterol, and has the recommended daily amount of Omega 3’s in just two. To top it all off, they’re to die for! Some of the ingredients include Organic Agave, Whole Wheat White Flour, Unsweetened Applesauce, Organic Golden Flaxseed, and more! Cuppies are perfect for birthday parties, classroom parties, or to enjoy yourself!

Cuppies is giving away one dozen vanilla cupcakes with the icing color of your choice to one lucky Wilmington reader (sorry everyone else, they’re working on shipping!). The giveaway ends February 27th. Good luck!

Harris Teeter Weekly Menu Feb 19-25

I can't believe Harris Teeter is already having another Super Doubles event! Coupons $1.98 or less are doubled so stock up on any items you need. Check out Southern Savers for three full lists of deals.

Cooking Tip: When recipes call for shredded or cooked chicken (like the Greek Chicken and Pita Casserole below) I cook the chicken breast in a slow cooker for 6 hours on low. When it comes time to make the meal for dinner, the chicken is all ready! If there are a few recipes that week that call for cooked chicken, I will put the amount needed for the week in the slow cooker and then store the chicken in an air-tight container in the fridge. This is a great time saving method and it is cheaper than buying a rotisserie chicken.  The weekly subtotal is $48.50 and includes a ton of fresh vegetables and meat.
